Aztecs
Mineral Division has undertaken a wide range of exploration
projects, including prospecting and evaluation of lignite,
limestone, granite, shale, base metals, potash and salt.
The
Mineral Division also conducts soil sampling and geotechnical
investigations.
In
addition to a wide range of wireline and conventional
coring equipment, the Division can deploy grout mixers
and pumps; inflatable packers (conventional and wireline)
for permeability testing; and sampling and testing facilities.
The
new 200 horsepower MAIT GEA500 track mounted multi-purpose
rig can drill holes at any angle and is ideal for anchors,
piles and directional drilling.
The
Division's portable mud systems can handle bentonite
muds, brines and oil-base mud. Several
of it's rigs, such as the Ingersoll_Rand DM-45, are
also suitable for drill and blast operations in quarries
or open cut mines.
